Development Framework
Global competitiveness will be the benchmark for the development of Philippine Service Exports. This is in recognition that Services, like manufacturing, processing and production, has its own value chain. Furthermore, sustainability of Services competitiveness is also recognized as dependent on the national culture, education and lifelong learning of the Philippine population.
The Framework recognizes that the development of Service Exports has wider economic implications, contributing to employment generation, regional development, and poverty alleviation. Further, as there no limits to the size of Service Firms, more people can venture to become entrepreneurs themselves
The macroeconomic framework should promote competitiveness, efficiency, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. Education must be accessible to all, with a focus not just on academics but also on developing the ability to learn and in developing communication skills. The national values of caring and being people centered must be preserved. Teacher training and competencies must be improved. |
