Tourism

Tourism authorities are continually developing new tourism products. One of the more prominent ones is Health and Wellness Tourism, a program actively coordinated with the Department of Health and the PPP Task Force of EO 372.

As defined by the World Trade Organization or WTO, Health Tourism is “tourism associated with travel to health spas or resort destinations where the primary purpose is to improve the traveler’s physical well being through a regimen of physical exercise and therapy, dietary control, and medical services relevant to health maintenance.”

More details on this and other tourism programs can be had from the website of the Philippine Medical Tourism Program.

The existing retirement program is also in focus, with the new concept of retirement enclaves or villages which are supported by related services like health and recreation. Information on the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa is found in the website of the Philippine Retirement Authority.

More details on the Philippines can be found at the portal of the Philippine government.
